Our collaboration with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) is one of the most impactful partnerships in our mission to save and heal lives through organ, eye & tissue donation. With 95% of all donor registrations in Louisiana coming through the OMV, their role is nothing short of life-saving!

Every time someone visits the OMV to apply for or renew a driver’s license or state ID, they’re asked a simple but powerful question: “Would you like to join the Louisiana Organ Donor Registry?” This moment creates a life-changing opportunity and it happens hundreds of times every day.

But the impact goes beyond the question. Many OMV employees are donor family members, transplant recipients and registered donors themselves. Their personal connection brings heart to every conversation and helps inspire others to say “yes” to giving the gift of life. Together, we ensure that the wishes of every registered donor are honored, offering peace, healing and hope to donor families and transplant recipients alike.

Today, more than 2.8 million Louisianians have registered as organ, eye & tissue donors. That’s over half of the eligible population in Louisiana but there’s still more work to be done. With only 63% currently registered, too many lives still hang in the balance.
